Best Purchase Ever

This is probably the best thing I've ever bought to wear, and believe me, I have bought plenty of things to wear. If only it would do my taxes and take out my trash, it'd be perfect!

This is merino wool top is made by Icebreaker. (It's black. I lightened the photo to show some detail.) I don't know how many times I've worn in the last two and half months. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say 62 days out of 75. I'm not kidding. It washes beautifully in the machine's gentle cycle on cold. It dries overnight. It is truly showing ZERO signs of wear. It doesn't itch. It doesn't stink.  And, it keeps me warm and dry.

If you are thinking, "I'd like to try winter bicycling, but I'm too cold!" then you couldn't do better than to don this baselayer with a heavier wool sweater over it. You are thinking, "Gee...is it expensive?" Yes. It is.  Believe me, I don't ever spend this kind of money on a "shirt," but most definitely--I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product. The zippered neckline is handy on days when you start to heat up a bit after riding and the collar is high enough to afford some protection at the base of your neck. The cut is excellent. Fitted and streamlined, it's longer in the back which is ideal for cycling. The sleeves have thumbholes which are great for keeping the sleeve pulled down while you put on another layer and very handy after you get inside and need to grab a frosty mug of beer.

It comes in women's and men's sizes. I am saving to buy everything I can from this company. The stuff is fabulous.
